Is De-pigmentation Therapy a
Solution for Vitiligo?
People suffering from the skin
disorder of white patches mostly wish for re-pigmentation, as to
even out the skin color. Many efforts have been made by the researches of Vitiligo
cure to attain a re-pigmentation therapy. This re-pigmentation
therapy includes allopathy and surgical
procedures, also natural treatments for Vitiligo
are available which are able to produce excellent results in order to acquire
re-pigmentation. But some times the sufferers of this disease also undertake
de-pigmentation therapy.
This de-pigmentation therapy was previously
misconceived as bleaching, but it is not so. Also not every patient is the
candidate of this treatment for vitiligo.

monobenzylether of hydroquinone (monobenzone or Benoquin) drug which is

are under treatment and skin-to-skin contact should also be avoided with other
people, as it is very dangerous for them. The minimum time for this treatment
is 2 or more month until the de-pigmentation is not totally acquired.
Another draw back of this treatment for
Vitiligo is that it is not permanent and re-pigmentation may come back
with the passage of time. Also, the de-pigmented skin becomes very sensitive to
the sun and very much prone to sunburn. Thereby, it is advised to use sun-block
(sunscreen) cream while going out in the sun.
